Frequently asked questions

Is the overlay really hidden from screen sharing?

Yes. By default the overlay uses OS-level content protection, so it does not appear in screen recordings, screen shares, or screenshots. You can turn this off in settings if you prefer.

Is there a free trial?

How is my time counted?

Per second, and only while a recording session is open. Press Start when the interview begins and Stop when it ends — a live timer and a remaining-hours chip are always visible in the bar.

Do my hours expire?

No. Prepaid hours never expire while your account is active, and there is no subscription — buy a pack once and use it whenever you need it.

Which operating systems are supported?

macOS on Apple Silicon (DMG) and Windows x64 (installer). The overlay stays on top of fullscreen apps on macOS; on Windows it covers borderless-fullscreen apps.

Does it work with Zoom, Google Meet, Teams, HackerRank…?

Yes — with all of them, and anything else. Nexterview is an OS-level overlay that floats above whatever app is on your screen: Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, Webex, Slack huddles, Discord, HackerRank, LeetCode, CoderPad, a browser tab. There is no integration to connect and nothing to install inside the meeting app.

macOS says the app is from an unidentified developer. What do I do?

Our builds are currently unsigned. On macOS, right-click the app and choose Open the first time. On Windows, if SmartScreen appears, click “More info” and then “Run anyway”.

Where does my data go?

Audio transcripts, screenshots, and resume context are sent per-request from the app to our backend and on to OpenAI to generate the answer — they are never persisted on our servers. Meeting notes stay on your device and never leave it. See the Privacy Policy for details.

Am I allowed to use Nexterview in an interview?

That depends on the rules of your interviewer, employer, or certification body. Nexterview is an assistance and preparation tool, and you are responsible for making sure your use complies with any policies that apply to you — see our Terms & Conditions.
